All-on-4 Dental Implants in Salinas, CA

All-on-4 Implants allow us to place a full arch of replacement teeth on 4 strategically placed implants in the jawbone. This novel technique gives many individuals the opportunity to receive full-arch implants even with some degree of bone loss. If a patient has lost some jawbone density caused by illness, age, or long-term denture wear, the All-on-4 procedure may eliminate the need for bone grafting while still providing a stable base for full mouth implants.

The All-on-4 Procedure

The first step in the All-on-4 procedure is determining the ideal location for the implants. We determine the right locations using digital scans and an examination of your mouth. Typically, 2 implants are placed toward the front of the jaw and 2 toward the back. The 2 implants at the back are angled to take advantage of the densest areas of bone while avoiding sinuses and nerves.

Once the implants are placed, we may be able to attach a temporary arch of replacement teeth the same day while we create your full arch. Full arch implants support a complete set of replacement teeth that are similar to a denture, but less bulky and lighter. If you get full arch implants in the upper jaw, the attached prosthetic does not cover the roof of the mouth.

Once the implants are placed, they take time to fuse with the jawbone, providing a stable base for your permanent restorations. This can take up to 6 months. During this time, your temporary denture gives you a complete smile. Once we have designed and created your final restoration, you return to our office, and we remove the temporary teeth and attach the permanent, full arch of replacement teeth to the 4 implants.

Am I a Candidate for All-on-4 Implants?

If you are considering full arch dental implants, All-on-4 may be the right choice for you if you meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • You are missing all or most of your teeth in one or both jaws.
  • You have some degree of jawbone loss, but do not want to prolong treatment by undergoing bone grafting.
  • You wear dentures but are not satisfied with their fit or performance.
  • You want dental implants, but have had gum disease in the past.
  • You want a less expensive alternative to full arch implant solutions that require more individual implants.
  • You are a non-smoker or are willing to quit smoking to get All-on-4 implants.

The Cost of All-On-4 Implants

It is difficult to provide you with an accurate cost for full-arch implants without a consultation. The price varies depending on the complexity of the surgery, the type of restoration used, the size of the implants, the type of sedation, and other considerations. Arranging a consultation with one of our dental implant specialists is the best way to get an accurate cost estimate based on your individualized treatment plan.
