Frequently Asked Questions – Pacific Periodontics & Dental Implant Centre

Why should I choose Pacific Periodontics & Dental Implant Centre?

Pacific Periodontics & Dental Implant Centre has been helping patients achieve healthier smiles through advanced periodontal and dental implant care for decades. Drs. O’Shea, Keeley, and Pham bring more than 85 years of combined experience and are dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized treatment in a caring environment. Our goal is to help every patient achieve long-term oral health while making each visit as comfortable as possible.

What makes Pacific Periodontics & Dental Implant Centre different from other periodontal practices?

Our practice combines extensive clinical experience with advanced technology and comprehensive treatment options. We introduced 3D imaging and guided implant surgery to the Monterey area in 2004 and continue to provide advanced periodontal therapies, including LANAP® laser treatment, dental implants, bone grafting, and implant retreatment. We are also one of the few periodontal practices serving both Monterey and Salinas.

Why should I see a periodontist instead of a general dentist?

Periodontists complete three additional years of specialized education beyond dental school, focusing on the gums, jawbone, and supporting structures of the teeth. This advanced training makes periodontists uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat gum disease, perform periodontal surgery, place dental implants, and manage complex cases involving bone loss and gum recession.
